Cook frowned, and waved her med tricorder.

“According to this, you’re perfectly fine.”

King rolled onto his side and faced her.

“The picture of virile health, I bet.”

He slid back, and motioned for her to join him on the biobed.

Miriam smiled.

“Computer … lock the doors.”

She shook her hair from its bun, and slipped out of her smock.

Mmm … I was hoping for a chance to demonstrate my … bedside manner with you. We can schedule weekly … no, better yet, daily … exams.”

She hopped onto the bed.

He hopped off.

“Computer, security override King One.

“Unlock the sickbay doors!”
