I guess Herr Müeller had decided he didn’t want to argue anymore.

There’s one in every crowd, on every ship—some conceited piglet who decides that a commission is really a coronation, and starts throwing his or her weight around.

Well, I weigh a lot more than some snotty little ex-cadet.

No one else in the room said a word: They were terrified of my reaction.

Good. That’s just the way I like it.
