I’d never really thought of anything appropriate to this season.
I’m still not sure I have.
Let me know.
“Eyes without a Face”
By Joseph Manno
Luciano Mantovanni shook his head.
“No thanks.”
Q’s tone grew mocking.
“I’m offering the chance of a lifetime. Afraid
of what you’ll not find… or what you will?”
He arched a brow.
“I don’t trust the messenger’s intent... or her method. But I have
a counterproposal.”
“I’m listening.”
“You go… and bear witness to what you see.”
She smirked.
“What’s to say I haven’t already
gone myself?”
After a moment’s consideration, Mantovanni replied, “Nothing…
except the fact that you suddenly seem keen on my company.”
He leaned forward.
“Can’t quite get there on your own,
can you?”
Sneering, Q disappeared.
