Worf was astonished.
“You mean to tell me that Captain Mantovanni struck you?”
Jadzia nodded… and watched her
husband’s face, as his thoughts took precisely the direction she’d predicted.
Fury at the insult he’d absorbed via his wife’s shame…
resolve to confront and challenge Mantovanni over what he’d done… awareness
that such would certainly get him killed at best, or, even more likely,
humiliated and dishonored when Mantovanni defeated him with relative ease and
then left him alive… confusion that the man he knew would, even could, do such a thing…
…and, finally,
realization.
He demanded, “What did you do?”
