Here's another drabble
for which I owe my co-author an apology: It's significantly altered from what
he wrote, but I believe it truer to the characters, and a bit more fun.
And since it was his idea, well…
he deserves more credit than I do.
"Lead Vocals"

Brett King was on stage; and despite the
talent arrayed around him, there was no doubt who was
in command here.
"Good set!" he enthused.
"We're ready!
"Now we need a name. Hmm… Brett King and the Royals… Brett King and
Aristocracy..."
Parihn interjected, "Anyone else
noticing a common denominator, here?"
Amidst the ensuing laughter, though,
klaxons sounded… and they dashed as one for their posts.
From behind his friend, King teased,
"Shake your groove thing, Gumby."
She chuckled.
"That mouth is going to land you in
trouble, Brett."
"Hey… at least I didn't say, 'Shake
your money maker.'
"Ow!"
