Let’s see who likes this… or even who gets it.
“Not What I Do”
By Joseph Manno
Sera MacLeod sneered at the pathetic assemblage of officers
rigidly at attention—determined but, insofar as she was concerned, doomed to
failure.
She stopped before Parihn, who actually cringed before steeling
herself.
“You’re sure you want to
do this again?”
Parihn shouted, “Ma’am! Yes, ma’am!”
Sera’s voice took on a tone half-mocking, half-wheedling, before
she continued, “Despite how I humiliated
you last time, little girl?”
Gritting her teeth, the Orion held her ground and reaffirmed her
position.
“Ma’am! Yes,
ma’am!”
The rest—Benteen, Hatshepsut, King and
Aiello—nodded.
“All right…”
MacLeod stepped back… and grinned.
“…then let’s play ‘Sera
Says.’”
