Hey… my wife loved it.
"Small Wonder"
By Joseph Manno
The ready room door opened… and a tiny
bundle of exuberance emerged at a six-year-old's
equivalent of transwarp drive.
"Mom! I won again! Horses are so cool!"
Parihn entered, and handed her captain a
PADD containing the list of completed repairs.
"You're sweet to watch her."
Mantovanni said nothing.
"She really loves you,
Cicero."
He arched a brow… and gave her the kind
of smile usually reserved for Gabi.
"Can you blame her?"
She grinned and withdrew, allowing the
door to close between them… and at once its sweetness acquired a hint of
something more.
Parihn whispered, "No… I can't."
